Under The Blue Dome

Featuring Steinway Pianist, Carolyn Enger and premiere of JJ Hollingsworth’s Under the Blue Dome, and movement from her Fauna Suite written exclusively for our Loyalton Elementary School kids!

Carolyn Enger will spend a week in the schools of Loyalton teaching, performing and interacting with the students of Sierra-Plumas Joint Unified. They will explore music that highlights children's delight in nature, including music by Bach, Schumann, Gubaidulina and premiering compositions by composer-in-residence JJ Hollingsworth. In music and nature, we find emotional support, paving the way to renewal and calm.

Culminating the week of music will be a special performance with the 5/6th graders of LES, as part of their String academy. The students will have an opportunity to rehearse and perform with a world renown pianst as well as premiere a piece that was written for them by local composer-in-residence JJ Hollingsworth.
