Music in Schools, Carolyn Enger, Fauna Suite

Musica Sierra’s Music in Schools program

Musica Sierra and Carolyn Enger will present a hands-on workshop at Wild River Waldorf for grades 3-8, showcasing a new commission called Fauna Suite by local Sierraville composer JJ Hollinsworth.

Here, we will spend two days in the schools, offering a workshop and performance for the children practicing two movements from this newly commissioned suite. Joined by acclaimed pianist Carolyn Enger, our students and staff will have a unique opportunity to learn, perform, and be inspired by world-class pianists.

Carolyn Enger

Pianist Carolyn Enger has gained critical acclaim for her lyrical and dynamic playing, her deeply felt interpretations of works from Beethoven and Schubert to contemporary music, and her warm personal approach. Her 2013 release of piano music by Ned Rorem on Naxos Records was selected as one of the “Best in Classical Recordings” by The New York Times.

We are WIDER, WILDER, and WONDER-FILLED.

We are Wild River, a Truckee-Tahoe, community-anchored, enrichment and exploration offering. We strive to model independent thinking, creativity, and problem solving that serves as a firm foundation for creating a healthy social and natural world.
